Allure Diamond White and Badgley Mishka Ivory

LDwed, on October 8, 2015 at 4:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

I have been shopping for wedding shoes and found an amazing deal for a pair of ivory Badgley Mishka shoes. But now I'm having a har time pulling the trigger because I'm worried they won't look good with my Allure Diamond White (their ivory) gown. Part of me thinks I'm worrying about nothing and that different ivories will look beautiful but I would love to know if there are other brides out there that have experience with different shades of ivory? What do you think?

Can you return them if they aren't right? I don't think there will be much difference. I say go for the good deal, no one is going to look at your shoes/dress and whisper "oh look they're different shades of white" Lol. I hear you, these are the kinds of decisions I keep making and worrying about and then i have to step back and think like a wedding guest instead of a bride... will anyone notice? will anyone care? I say go for it, they'll be beautiful!

I'm exactly like you, too scared to buy anything, just in case it won't match. I probably am a bit lucky that I went with red shoes or I'd most likely be right in the same boat as you.

Can you see if you can get a sample swatch from the designer if you are really worried about it? I know in my dress contract, I could buy one (although a bit pricey at about 35 bucks). I'm just glad I got my dress early because I'm in the same boat with the veil. I bought samples of those and will compare this weekend. Otherwise, I think you should be fine, no one really is going to notice your shoes that much, or even make a comment about it.

@MrsBest2B That's a good question, I will look in to their return policy. LOL I feel so silly even worrying about i, I'm to embarrassed to obsess about it with my real life peeps. That's a great idea to step back and think like a wedding guest! Thank you!

@jenja I'm glad I'm not the only one! You're so smart for getting samples. I wanted navy shoes, but they are so expensive. love that you are wearing red, that will look awesome!

I originally bought ivory Badgley Mishka shoes and returned them because they looked WAY too yellow against my dress (Venus ivory, lace). I wound up buying Nina ivory shoes instead. They were perfect and a lot less expensive.

I think you're right that if the two ivories are off a shade or two, it will probably look beautiful still and no one will notice. That being said, it would drive me personally CRAZY. My dress is a certain shade of ivory that I think my designer called oyster. I absolutely love the color but I knew shoes were going to give me problems so I had the bridal shop get me a swatch. Turns out the Badgley Mishka ivory matches perfectly, so YAY for me, LOL. If it's something that you know will bother you, get a swatch and start matching, don't feel silly about it!!

ETA: I posted a thread this AM with pics of my dress in it from my fitting last night if you can find that one you can get an idea of the shade of my dress that is spot-on with the ivory Badgley Mishkas.

I'm the same way, but had my sights set on wearing royal blue shoes. I am a freak about color tones matching. If it is a shade difference, I'm fine but if it is a different tone, no way.

Navy may be easier to find now that we're getting into fall..

@summer I'm so happy for you that the Badgley ivory matches your dress!! Their shoes are just so pretty. I'm gonna go look for your fitting thread. Thanks for the input!

@nenabear I love the look of royal blue shoes with a wedding dress! That's what I wanted originally, but then FH is wearing a navy tux and I don't need to match him, but I don't want to clash with him Smiley winking Good luck finding your perfect blue!

I really don't think you'll be able to tell...at all. And you don't plan on having many pictures of your feet...do you?

Maybe a few foot pics...is that weird? You might be right though about not being able to tell.

You probably don't need this information anymore, but just in case, I wanted to chime in and say that I also have an Allure dress in Diamond White, and I bought Badgley Mischka shoes...in White, not Ivory...they match my dress perfectly.
