Allergic reaction/ paging make up gurus

bellamae, on October 9, 2016 at 1:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22

I tried the too faced lip injection because it came in my ipsy bag and it's causing me to have an allergic reaction. All above and below my lips is red and very hot. How do I make it stop?! I've already taken off all the product. Has this happened to anyone else?

Are you sure it's not doing what it's supposed to do? I haven't tried that one, but I've tried lip plumping glosses/lipsticks before and that's exactly how my lips felt. I didn't like it, so I didn't do it again, but I'm not sure that's not what's supposed to happen.

Oh, I was still typing when you posted the picture. I definitely wouldn't think it should be red out around your lips like that. Hmmm.....hopefully someone will chime in with advice soon.

I got that stuff in my ipsy too!! Way more painful than similar products I've tried. It hurt so bad but luckily I was just able to rub it off without having a reaction like yours. That's crazy! I second the Benadryl.. I wonder if putting some burts bees or something cooling would help??

I would suggest just leaving your lips alone. It should go away by this evening hopefully! Those lip plumper glosses make your lips tingle and red and by the picture you posted it just looks super irritated! It will be okay and should go away within a few hours I would think!

I'm going to leave them alone for now. I would take Benadryl but I'm going to work now. I panicked but the redness seems to be going down now.

I received it in my Ipsy bag also. I remember using the Sally Hanson plumping lip gloss and that made my lips tingle. I think this lip gloss is supposed to do the same thing. But if it doesn't go away by this evening definitely try benadryl.

It probably has capsaicin in it (what makes hot peppers hot, simplistically). It may not be an allergy but Benadryl will help. Also, treat it like a burn.

I had a reaction a few months ago to face cream. I got a cortisone shot. I couldn't stand the burning/itching.

You need to take some Benadryl. You can try a cool compress.

Agree with Kara. Benadryl for sure and with what Wendy said. Cool compress. Toss that stuff asap! Sounds super painful.

If you can go to a doctor, their steroid shots work wonders!

You may need to see a dermatologist if the swelling & color doesn't fade by tomorrow. It could be a first degree Chem burn.

Wash it off and never use it again. Take Benadryl. When I was in middle school I had a bad allergic reaction to off brand lipgloss and I passed out from it (my reaction was severe). I went to the doctor and there was nothing he could really do for me, but from there in out I was really careful about what I put on my skin.

Cold compress and some kind of antihistamine to stop the reaction. Never put that on your face again. Throw it in the trash. Sorry but not worth it.

The burning is probably normal for the product because it is supposed to cause your lips to swell which is what plumps them. As for the redness I'm not sure unless you accidentally got some of it around the outside of your lips during application and it is red which isn't noticeable on lips. I would do as other pp's suggest and let a cold compress rest on that part of your face
