Alfred Angelo Navy and David's Bridal Marine

Destiny, on April 10, 2017 at 4:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

So I'm trying to look for navy blue bridesmaid dresses, and I'm very picky about the shade of navy I want, but I want my bridesmaids to have some options. Can anybody post pictures of their Navy Alfred Angelo dresses and David's Bridal Marine dresses so I can see what they look like in person? It's hard to tell online if they're what I'm looking for. Thank you!

This might not be useful, but do either of them offer fabric swatches? You may still not be able to tell from pictures here, but fabric swatches proved so useful when I was selecting bridesmaids options.

I don't have pictures but I got a swatch from davids in marine and it's a very close match to Alfred angelos navy. I have one friend getting her dress from Alfred Angelo and the rest from Davids so I wanted to make sure they would match (each girl is picking her own dress) and I couldn't tell the difference between the two.

This confused me so much. I don't understand how their "marine" is navy.

We went to a boutique but Davids doesn't have a "navy"

Hannah W. I also went to David's Bridal and looked at their marine dresses and thought the same thing. The associate kept telling me that the pictures I showed her only looked a certain color because of the white background, and that the dresses matched. That's why I want to see pictures of other bridesmaid dresses from them, to see if they look more navy on a person.

FitzwilliamDarcy, I talked to someone with Brideside that's going to send me a swatch of the Alfred Angelo navy. On a computer it looks a certain color, but alot of people say it matches David's Bridal Marine dresses and I'm not sure if that's the shade I want to go with.

I work at Davids bridal and the marine is definitely a navy. They just don't call it navy, because they don't want people to freak out if their "navy" isn't the exact same color as some other designers Navy. Just like the don't call tickled/pink or apple/red. Davids Bridal also has the midnight color for Vera Wang dresses which is just slightly darker then the marine.

Although the color does look weird online, David's Bridal "marine" is definitely navy IMO. I'm doing a navy color for my wedding and ordering the dress in marine. ETA: sorry for the terrible picture quality.

We chose marine from DB as our navy too. I don't think it's a different color than navy. It's also the color of our vests from men's wearhouse.

My girls wore BM dresses from Davinchi/Impression. They are made at the same factory. I would say to make sure the dresses get ordered at the same time if possible due to dye lots. With navy it matters. This is the JBM trying on dresses from 2 manufacturers and the picture does not really show the difference that was even more striking in person.
