Y'all this how much beer should I buy junk is ridiculous.

250 ish people.
Let's say 200 of them drink. So I need 1,000 servings. So roughly I need 6 kegs. [We had 22oz cups made. And that's absolutely what we are using.]And approximately 100 bottles of wine?Does that seem way out there to anybody else?

Oh goodness. That seems like a lot. I have about 250 guests as well. FH and I went through each guests one by one and estimated how much each would drink.

My grandma and FMIL won’t drink, no kids will drink, my mom will only drink one glass of wine. It’s time consuming but you know your guests better than anyone.
With wine, you can always overestimate. Some stores will let you return unopened bottles

Total Wine has a PDF that you can use to figure out how much beer, wine, and liquor you will need based on number of guests. I used it for a party and found it helpful.

I haven’t figured out how much beer we are buying but we did with wine and our event coordinator. We are getting married at a smallish vineyard so we wanted it nailed down. We estimated, actually our event coordinator, estimated 89 bottles of wine for probably 110 people drinking some light drinkers and some not so light. Your numbers do not seem way out there! We will probably be getting a lot of beer too!

Your bar tenders won’t fill the 22 oz cups up completely. In fact, they will likely only give 12 oz pours to keep people from becoming intoxicated too quickly. That being said, the count does seem slightly high. But we had 100 person wedding and ended up with very little alcohol left over. And we had a little less than half of the amount of wine as what you’re suggesting. If you order bottles/can instead of kegs, you can return what you don’t use.

It's a know your crowd thing. I'm Irish/German and my FH is Czech (AND a firefighter) so we have a fair amount of heavy drinkers attending.

I'm coming in at 65 cases of beer (24 packs), 30 bottles of wine, and 540 servings of our signature drinks. 2150 total servings. Estimating 200 guests for 4 hours. I might be a little high but you can return any unopened bottles here in Texas. I'd much rather have too much than not enough.

I had so much confusion when buying stuff too, and I still don’t know if I got the right amount. Did you ask your caterer if kegs are allowed? We were gonna do kegs but it was not allowed Smiley sad

We have around 200 drinking guests from what we assumed. We definitely aren't getting that much beer. Our venue recommended 3 kegs. We aren't doing kegs though we decided on Aluminium bottles instead.

I'm okay with too much wine. We will drink it later.
I just dont want any leftover untapped kegs.
