Alcohol ratios

Matty, on April 18, 2018 at 1:52 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
How do you decide how much wine vs beer vs cocktails to have? We’re buying the alcohol ourselves and having two kinds of red and white wine, 2 types of beer, one type of cider, and two signature cocktails. We’re expecting a little more than 100 guests. I don’t know how to guess what wine (dry or sweet) or cocktail (gin or whiskey) will be more popular... what have people done in the past?

Some details in case they’re helpful:
    2 reds (pinot and cab)
2 whites (pinot grigio and reisling)
    2 beers (1 light 1 dark)
    1 cider (not sweet)
2 cocktails (one gin, one whiskey)

    As a bartender:
    White wine- Chardonnay and Rose
Red wine- Cabernet Sauvignon and Red Blend
As far as cocktail, go with a Washington apple drink (whiskey, sour apple pucker and cranberry) and also a Pink lemonade drink (citrus vodka, lemonade, grenadine and sprite). These are the most common wines drank and the cocktails will please both men and women. Best of luck.

I was just having this discussion with my FH this morning. A little overwhelming to figure out, especially when neither of us are drinkers. Best of luck to you!

I’ll definitely talk to my FW about changing up our white wine choices, neither of us care for white wine much so it doesn’t matter to us. signature cocktails we’re gonna stick with because they’re our favorite drinks. thanks for the professional advice!

I think white wines tend to be more popular, and are more popular in the Summer. I think whiskey or tequila cocktails are most popular (margaritas are always a popular choice). I think having the beer and cider is a great idea. I think predominately people have beer, then equal cocktail and wine.
