Alcohol Cost Estimate

Ashley, on September 21, 2017 at 1:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

Does anyone have a solid estimate of what a reasonable cost for alcohol for a 200-250 guest count wedding would be?

We are budgeting $1500 for beer and wine only for 80 guests, we are home brewing the beer- so it's cheaper. Based on that for 200-250 I would say about 5k if you are allowed to supply your own alcohol, and you only do beer and wine. (Assuming you won't aren't also a homebrewer).

I would use one of the bar calculators you can find online to find out how much you need and then go from there. You can buy reasonably cheap from alcohol warehouses or even Costo or Sam's Club.

Are you doing a full open bar, modified open bar, just wine and beer?

I would say modified bar. But modified to beer, wine, vodka and whiskey. I would provide all, so i would mostly go to Costco. Just trying to estimate the actual quantity I should purchase

In terms of quantity, I've seen a dink per guest per hour in a few places. Granted you know your guest list and who drinks, who doesn't, and maybe roughly how much. But check out some of the calculators online and remember it's always better to have leftovers than to run out.

We budgeted $1,000 for alcohol 100 guests and a full bar.

    We are purchasing everything.

this is excluding cost of bar tender.

A Drink calculator definitely helps in this case

Usually people say to estimate 2 drinks per person in the first hour, and one drink per person every hour after that.
