Aisle Walk Timing?

AJ, on March 24, 2018 at 7:36 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7

i haven't been to many weddings, and the ones I have been to had long aisles. I'm having trouble figuring out how long my processional music should be, because the aisle at my ceremony space is not very long...there's only 12 rows of seating.

Does the wedding party walk to the same song as the bride, or am I supposed to have a separate song?

Any ideas or experience?

*Theres also only about 8 feet between the back row of seats and the door of the chapel

I choose songs I love and went to the venue and walked the distance at the pace I plan to walk to! I timed it so that way I know what part I’m the song the bridal party has to walk out on. In order to get to the gazebo.
Yes, the bride should walk out to a different song but, it entirely up to you and your FH. Best wishes

Oh, that's a great way to tackle it, thanks Yvette!

I hope to use an instrumental version of La Vie en Rose, but it would need a certain amount of time to get through a phrase without sounding odd.

    I like your choices!

Your DJ/sound person for your music can fade the music in and out as needed. Or if you have live musicians, they can play based on sight and how long it takes people to walk.

my venue had a very short aisle, so our coordinator stressed that you have to walk slow (or people won’t see you and your dress you spent $$$$ on). We had one song for the processional, then before my dad and I walked the music changed and people stood up (so there was a little bit of a pause as we waited for everyone to stand).

Lol! I hope they will be able to see you in your dress the rest of the evening not just the two minutes of walking down the aisle!

Of course they can see you... but the first look is always the “wow” moment! So you want to bask in that glory as long as possible and not rush it!
