Aisle runner or no?

Morgan, on May 2, 2020 at 7:04 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 16
Hi!! I’m having such a hard time figuring out if I want an aisle runner or not. My wedding is Christmas themed and taking place December 12th (hopefully) My venue is formal but a lot of the decor were using has a rustic touch to it. My question is: Would a burlap aisle runner look okay on this flooring in the picture? Instead of the flowers down the side, we are having Christmas tree greenery on the floor lining the sides of the aisle. Also, there will be an arch for the ceremony. Should I decorate that somehow? Maybe also with a burlap draping? For the arch I just have a mistletoe ball to hang but feel like just that is boring. Any input or recommendations would be great. Thank you!!😊

I love the look of the wood! That’s a beautiful space. I think an aisle runner would actually take away from the room. Maybe some flower petals along the sides of the aisle if you’re looking for more decorations?

Thank you!!! I just didn’t know if it was too boring. Love the flower petal idea but we aren’t doing flowers, we’re doing Christmas tree greenery on the floor down the sides!!😊

I think brown on brown wouldn’t have a wow factor. You could hang kissing balls (round flowers balls) on the chair but I like he idea of the greenery by itself.

I think it would look gorgeous without! I love those floors and it'll look really good with the greenery!

The runner is entirely up to you.. Ask the venue if they decorate already. Beyond that, you can decorate it however you like.

I’m having the same dilemma, aghhh! We are having a beach wedding, so our vendors are recommending an aisle runner to make it easier to walk on. But I love the look of just the sand!
Your wedding venue is SO pretty, but I think adding a white/ivory aisle runner and maybe some floating candles would look so romantic alongside those wooden floors

I love the wood too! I say skip the runner. A Christmas tree & greenery down the aisle are perfect touches.

I would skip the runner, the wooden floor looks really nice and the greenery would look lovely as well. Smiley smile

I think having a piece of fabric on the sand would make it weird to walk on...? If it's those that have to be installed, like a runway, maybe it would take away from the beach vibe?

I attended a beach wedding, no runner in the aisle and the bride used flats (nobody could see her shoes anyway), and then afterwards at the reception, she wore her heels. Smiley smile

I'm going to say no. You wont miss it and most people wont even notice it. The floors look beautiful as is, makes everything pop😊
