Aisle runner on marble floor

Courtney, on February 3, 2017 at 4:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hello! I am required to have an aisle runner because I'm having a flower girl (either real or fake petals they require it). The aisle is MARBLE. Any non-slip suggestions?!

Oh yikes. I know you can buy that rubber stuff by the yard at JoAnn's, the stuff that you put under a rug to keep it from slipping, but I'm not sure how expensive that would get, or if it would look odd under an aisle runner instead of a rug (because I assume most rugs would be thicker).

Marble and runners don't go together. I'd have your flower girl carry a pomander ball and not to a runner. I've seen this go very ugly.

What's their reasoning for this being a requirement? It's the venue's requirement? Because honestly I think loose flower petals on the floor would be way safer than fabric on a marble floor.

I would have her carry a basket of flower and not throw anything to skip the aisle runner. Marble is slippery enough and I think the aisle runner will just make it worse

Is no heels also a requirement? Cause I'm confused about the flower thing.

I nearly landed on my butt walking on an aisle runner on a terrazzo floor. Marble would be even more slippery.

The reason for a runner under flower petals is that real petals will stain the marble and it is very expensive to clean/maintain.

I would go without the flower pedals. That's not a good combo & I would be afraid of someone falling. Have your flower girl carry a bouquet instead.

Thanks for all your suggestions! Didn't think about not throwing flowers down but having her hold it. Thanks so much!
