If you're allowed to double sided tape the aisle runner down, that will probably help a lot. You could also put really heavy decorations on the edges. Also I'd recommend only allowing guests to enter the pews from the outside, if that's possible for your church arrangement.

That's all I've got... I am not getting an aisle runner because we're also inside with a hard floor and I heard it was a bad idea... The only other option is to just not use it. Maybe it isn't worth the stress?

That's exactly the same as us! and the church just refinished all the hardwoods. My BM's all have kitten heels for shoes but thankfully there are rubber tips on the soles.

I want to nix it, the groom says otherwise. I've just been to so many weddings where it gets all crumpled and torn and it looks messy.

Our church has a runner. It's not super heavy duty. The main thing is, they let the guests in. Before you walk down the aisle, they have the altar boys(girls) unroll the runner for the bridal party.
