Aisle runner etiquette

Leah, on May 6, 2017 at 11:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

For those of you having aisle runners, whether personalized or not, are you having it already laid out for display and letting your wedding party walk on it or waiting to pull it out before you walk down the aisle?? I personalized my runner and want it out but other opinions says for it to be rolled out when it's my time. What's your thoughts?

I'm having an outdoor wedding, so opted for a runner. It's burlap & it'll be out before the ceremony starts. I'm honestly using it so I won't sink in the grass.

The weddings I have been to with a runner the first person to step on it was the bride and her escort.

Sometimes it is rolled out (usually by ushers/groomsmen) after the last guest (MOB) is seated and then the whole wedding party walks on it. Or you can have just your FG walk ahead of you on it.

Personally, I like it just for the bride but I think you can do what you want.

@S.Suarez; I'd test it; heels, grass and burlap don't generally peacefully coexist....

@celia my florist says she puts a sturdy carpet underneath. Luckily, we'll be able to see it before the wedding. If it doesn't work, I'll ditch it for sure.
