Aisle flowers becoming table centerpieces? Anyone done/doing this?

Tina, on January 6, 2019 at 3:36 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 26
Has anyone done or plan on using the flowers/decor that you have down the aisles as the table centerpieces once the ceremony is over? We're having the ceremony in one blocked off side of a ballroom and the reception on the other side. During the cocktail hour I was thinking it would make sense to have those aisle vases just moved to the tables. Does that work well? 🙂

I am interested in this as well because both my wedding planner and florist said this could be done and I plan on doing it! We are also going to use my bouquet for a centerpiece on the head table!

Not a bad idea however make sure you have someone designated to make sure the vases go from one area to another.

I was thinking the same thing with my bouquet! 🙂 Because otherwise what do brides do with it, I'm not sure, lay it on the table? Glad to hear that your florist recommend the centerpieces idea, I'm my own florist so have no clue what works or doesn't on the day!

Absolutely! The wedding coordinator has already mentioned staff helping to get the room ready. 🙂

Yes! My “Day of Coordinator” is going to transfer them as the venue turns the room during cocktail hour. I think it will be nice because the bouquet will stay in a vase with water instead of just sitting on the table next to me.

We’re not using them for center pieces but we are using them as Decor in the reception. I’m a little nervous for the process but I think it will go smooth while we take pictures

I’m doing this, sort of. I’m going to have small arrangements (maybe just baby’s breath) in vases lining the aisle and I’ll move them to the cocktail hour tables as soon as the ceremony is over. I don’t think it’ll take long so I don’t see it being weird. I doubt my guests will even notice.

Hi Tina! I am so happy to see this Discussion!

I have seen this done at weddings before and it works perfectly!

Most recently that I experienced, the aisle runners/centerpieces were lanterns that were covered in roses and eucalyptus. They weren't too tall or too big either. Exactly as you mentioned, during cocktail hour, the event coordinators (which included myself) moved them from the ceremony space to the dining area, onto the tables as centerpieces. They were still in perfect condition and arranged perfectly as centerpieces.

All-in-all, definitely a very great way to get the most out of your florals & decor and save a little money ! Smiley heart

I did this. I draped garlands down the pews of the church during the ceremony and afterwards my florist and DOC moved them to the reception venue to use as centerpieces. We also used our bouquets on the accent tables.
