Airbrush or traditional and why?

Quynh, on August 22, 2017 at 10:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

My wedding is coming up in just about 100 days. Dec 2, 17 to be exact. It'll be a local destination for us in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. And I was wondering if anyone can recommend or suggest a markup artist in this quaint beach town and whether you would go with traditional or airbrush makeup and why? Also if you know a great hairstylist in this area, please share your experience and/or pictures.

Have you tried searching using the vendor tab?

There are a lot of pros and cons. I was talking to a MUA and she was saying that people with uneven skin, wrinkles or have a little more peach fuzz on their face do better with traditional whereas if you're the opposite - airbrush is the way to go.

@chaos05, oh yes, there are a handful of vendors in this area and the surrounding area. I wanted to hear from personal experience about the pros/cons of airbrush vs. traditional makeup for a wedding day.

@Brooke, I'm hearing a lot of good hype about airbrush one of which is that it is light-weight; this is a super plus for me as my daily makeup wear is very minimum. Also it's waterproof [another plus since our wedding reception and photos will be taken on/bear/by the beach and you can tear up and not worry about smearing down your face], last all-day [another big plus!]. If I were to go with traditional makeup, I worry that I will need to pay MUA to stick-around for touch ups. Our ceremony starts at 2P and the reception isn't till 6P.

Disadvantages: can be flaky if skin tends to be on the drier side, limited shade options and a bit more expensive

No MUA suggestions, but for me, I like traditional makeup. Airbrush makeup offers less coverage for my semi-terrible skin and it leaves my face feeling sticky. It looks pretty mediocre on my skin type (combination skin). It sits on top of my face instead of blending in and wears off fast. If I were you, I would definitely schedule a trial and test out if you like the airbrush! A lot of people like it, it just doesn't work on my skin.
