Airbrush make-up and oily skin

BeachBride2016, on July 13, 2016 at 8:34 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

I had a quick consultation (not trial) with my MUA a few weeks ago to show her some looks I liked from Pinterest and talk about make-up options. She does both airbrush and traditional (I think she said she uses dermablend make-up for the traditional). She said that she prefers the traditional make-up and thinks it works best, but I'd always heard the opposite and had been leaning towards airbrush. She said her one caution with airbrush is that for people with oily skin, it can tend to settle into lines. I have combo skin so definitely some oily patches, and I'm 33 so do have the start of some fine lines, nothing major, but since I'm getting married on the beach I'm sure my skin may be a bit more oily on that day than if I was indoors for the ceremony.

Has anyone with oily skin had issues with airbrush make-up? I was thinking I may just have to do a trial with both options to see how they look on my skin. Ah! Such a hard choice - and the airbrush is $25 more.

I'm doing airbrush makeup. I have oily skin whether I use traditional or airbrush. Lines will show with dry skin, not with oily. Airbrush is much more light-weight anyway, that's why I'm choosing that. I want the more natural look.

I have oily skin. I've had my makeup done at least 50-60 times in the last few years, both airbrush and regular. I fully prefer regular. Airbrush looked great, but I really didn't see a difference between that and regular.

    It's solely personal preference.

I love airbrush makeup. My skin is oily and I loved the way the makeup looked. If applied correctly you shouldn't have lines and the application should look even.

I had airbrush make up done for my brother's outdoor beach wedding a few years ago and in all of the pictures, while my make up looks flawless and lasted all day, my skin was too "shiny" for my personal preference. My skin is not overly oily, I definitely have combo skin as well. Haven't decided yet which I'll do for my own big day but I was turned off a bit from the airbrush.

I just went to Ulta to learn about makeup and what I need. I have oily skin too. The foundation they gave me was liquid Tart. This made me look airbrushed. It's amazing
