Age of the ring bearer

Danniel, on June 5, 2017 at 8:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

We are getting married next year. My son will be 10 when we get married. Will he be to old to be the ring bearer?

I don't think so. Ask him how he would feel about it

Not at all, in fact I think it's better that he's old enough to be trusted with the rings and not just walking down the aisle with fake rings to look cute.

Our ring bearer will be 8 almost 9. He's FH's youngest nephew, while FGs are my little cousins. I don't see anything wrong with it.

10 is too old. He's Junior Groomsman.

One of my flowergirls will be 10. I gave her the option of being a junior bridesmaid or a flowergirl, she chose the flowergirl. I'd rather she be comfortable. If anything, your rings will be safer with a 10 year old than the typical youngster!

When I was 16 I was a flower girl!! Crazy right!! But honestly that side of the family is very small. I was the only girl and the youngest boy we had was 15. It was something the bride wanted so why not. It's was non traditional and she didn't have to worry about tantrums. It's your wedding who cares if people think he's too old

I think it's fine as long as he's comfortable with it.

I've never seen a RB or FG under 10. It's way too much of a gamble with their behavior if you go younger.

My son will be 7 and he doesn't want to be the ring bearer. He will be a junior groomsman. I think 10 is too old for that. Although I just went to a wedding where the ring bearer was the groom's grandfather and the flower girls were the bride's grandmothers? Sooooo... maybe 10 isn't too old.

I think it's fine. FH son just turned 14 and he'll be carrying our rings and handing them to the officiant when asked. He's not going to be carrying a pillow. Just the rings in a ring box. Does your son even need a title? We are not doing programs and not announcing anyone at the reception. The titles seem kind of pointless to me. Ring bearer/ Jr GM. Either way he could present the rings.
