Age gaps

We are only 4 years apart— age is just a number, don’t let people’s opinions get to you! Very happy for you both !

I’m 6 years older than my FH. We laugh and make jokes but we haven’t faced any issues. Don’t let people discourage you guys!

We are four years apart which isn’t a huge gap

I’m 8 years older and from a completely different culture. Different is good. You learn things and get to show them a lot of things they wouldn’t be otherwise exposed to.

We're 15 years apart! In all honesty, he's the one that's hardest on us- I think he feels like his age will hold me back. Some people make comments but most are accepting.

Were you underage and he an adult when you started being best friends? That might be the source of push back.

View Quoted Comment Yep that's prob it. I know if I was with a guy that I met at 16 and he was 34 my family would def have hesitations at the least. I'd just try and show that you're in a good relationship but listen and acknowledge their concerns.

He is 8 years older than me. I felt kind of weird at first because I had never dated an "older" guy before (plus he's the same age as my sister and her husband, so for some reason that felt weird), but we get along great! Plus he doesn't even look his age lol (40).

I might have gloated a little that I was married to a 29 year old for 5 days... until his birthday!

What Rebelle said. My hubby is 10 yrs older and we learn so much together. I'm a music nut and my appetite expands 60 yrs of music so when he hears me singing or humming a song before what he thinks is before my time...lol, I remind him that most songs are remakes from years past rather it be country, classical, rnb or whatever.

My fiancé of 20 years younger than me. I’m probably the only who struggles with this. Since he doesn’t have kids and my daughter will be 21 this year. I worry about kids in the future even though he is ok if we can’t have any. Buy our family and friends are fine with it. We just really compliment each other and everyone sees how great we are together. Your family and friend will want most your happiness and that is all that should matter.
