Looking for headpiece inspiration! Please post pics or share where you purchased.

I shouldn't have to preface with this but this post isn't meant to offend so ANYONE please feel free to share your headpieces. However, I'm especially interested in seeing pictures of African American brides with short haircuts or natural hairstyles similar to my own in their headpieces. Attaching a pic of one of the styles I like so far. I want something a tiny bit more elaborate though.

You all look so beautiful! And see this is what I mean, brides of color should be part of the default pictures as well! Natural hair/not natural hair etc.

But I think it starts with not apologizing for what you need from a forum. Smiley smile Your presence should be honored, not apologized for. Sorry soap box. You all look so beautiful, I just wish brides of color had more representation just so everyone can see how beautiful a black bride is. Smiley smile Can't wait for your BAM's!

FutureMrs, I feel like a headpiece is like a dress. You can wear it all evening if you want, or go free.

I've seen some who wear their hair one way during the ceremony (with veil and one hairpiece), then had their stylist slightly change the look for the reception, so they could dance the night away.

Thank you for this post. Keisha, I'm dealing with unexpected hair loss right now and the pic of the natural hair with the goddess twist is something I tried for my birthday that I'm seriously considering for my wedding. (Issa Rae's current look) @FitzwilliamDarcy, a jeweled comb with the veil to the back will be beautiful and elegant. (You all have me in joyful tears. Thank you for this post and confirmation.)

This post is a perfect example of why I still wish there more websites that combined the practical elements of wedding planning with specific needs of women of color (I think Munaluchi provides beautiful examples and elements, but wish it had more of the practical planning issues and featured a broader range of wedding types).

If any of you are tech and social media savvy and decide to start a new website, know that I'd happily volunteer as tribute/I mean moderator.

Natural girl here! This is my inspiration picture. I ordered a headpiece from Nayana on Etsy. They had a lot of nice simple headpieces. I'm blowing my hair out for the wedding just to make it easier for my stylist to get my hair set. She beat my head up during my trial to make that bun lol!

@fitzwilliamdarcy, you are so right! It's hard to find wedding inspiration and planning for WOC in a one stop shop. Definitely something to consider.

Aderine85 I love that look too. I'm going to check her out on Etsy! We need to keep this thread going with all inspiration pics and personal looks.

A lot of the pages I follow on IG have gorgeous black weddings, but they are unrealistic. I am not marrying a football player. I will love something featured follow the link and find out it is way out of my prince range. I too wish for a more realistic representation of black couples. My photographer Samantha Clarke has a blog and it has everyday couples.

@Belinda I haven't done it before and I will have a trial in a few months. I am hoping it is a style I can get done the night before. Basically my trial is going to be if I can tie it down and sleep on it, and it still looks good the next day

@FitzwilliamDarcy my background is actually in Comp Sci and this wedding planning experience has actually made me seriously consider doing what you mention.

FutureMrs, please continue to consider it (know there's not time for it before your wedding)! I think it would be so amazing to continue to re-frame the narrative about Black women and marriage, including creating a place that celebrates the diversity of our experiences with wedding planning!

And I'm very serious about happily supporting it in any way that I could.

Love the inspiration Smiley smile I plan on buying a kinky straight full lace wig (as pictured) and pulling it up in a high bun for my wedding ( I will be having my stylist install the wig). I love how big natural textured buns look!! I then plan on (maybe) adding a headpiece to lay on my forehead Smiley smile Im so excited to see how this will look at my hair trial in October
