Affordable engagement photographer recommendations?

Have them done by whomever is doing your wedding. Getting comfortable with your photographer(s) and their style is the most important part of the engagement shoot.

Have you looked for wedding photographers yet? Some photographers (like mine) have engagement photos included in wedding packages. Although you'd need to give a deposit now, in the long run it may save you money

I'm using my sisters friend who does it as a side job, she gave me a great price of $100 for an hour session and I'll be giving her an extra $50 for her time

Did you find one for your wedding yet? Our e-pics were part of our wedding photographers' package. if it's not included for you, they'd probably give you a good deal to book with them

I agree that you should use this opportunity to test our your prospective photographer. George Street had a sale, were one of the more affordable options (NYC), and included engagement portrait sessions in their wedding package. Even if you do not check them out (they are based in Chicago but, contract photographers in many cities across the US), look out for photographers that include it or have reasonable pricing.

In all seriousness, with the technology of our phones these days, if you need one photo for your Save the Date, you could have a fun shot taken by someone you know.

It would help if you could first tell us what you're willing to spend. I know several in the area.

I had someone give me a quote for $800 for engagement pics... ummm no thanks. Lol
