Advice!!

My mom is doing that currently and every time I'm just kinda like "I don't think that's the style I'm going for though" lol. I told her the other day about having our cocktail hour after the ceremony so that dinner will start once we get done with pictures and she said "No the guests should be eating dinner while you're taking pictures and you just eat when you're done. No one does that, you know nothing about weddings". I was like "what?!"

Holy crap - when was the last time your mom went to a wedding?! I've NEVER been to a wedding where guests ate while pictures were done! That's the point of cocktail hour . . .

Yes. My mom! Like she just doesn't understand how some things are done I think. We are sending save the dates, once we get engagement pics done and I am also including a small business card in them with our wedding website so the guests can find hotel information. She was like you don't need to do that or send save the dates. She is right I don't but we have a lot of out of state guests that want to book early from my FH's side. My mom tried to pick our 1st dance song too. Oh she also hired an officiant without asking what we thought about having a minister do the ceremony. She also got mad at me for deciding to go through Azazie for bridesmaid dresses even though it doesn't affect her at all.

I would just stop involving them. Don't bring up the wedding, change the subject when they do, don't invite them to wedding related things, treat them like any other guest. If they are contributing financially obviously this is way harder to do.

RIGHT! She went to a wedding a couple months ago where the guests ate while they did pictures, but that's ONE wedding! I told her nearly everyone has a cocktail hour of some sort unless all pictures were taken before the ceremony or something like that. She just rolls her eyes and tells me I'M crazy

Just know you aren't crazy and that you should go with you want
