Advice!

Chantell, on July 22, 2019 at 3:12 PM Posted in Planning 0 19
Hi everyone! I need your guys help. So my fiancé has a total of 6 men on his side and I have 7 women on my side for our bridal parties. He can’t think of one more person he would want to make it both 7 and I can’t imagine not having all 7 standing up with me on my side. Is it weird to have an uneven amount or what do I do? I thought about having one be a personal attendant but still not sure! What should I do??

Uneven bridal parties are very common these days. We're having 4 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen.

That’s good to know! So the one would just walk by themselves then?

During the processional the bridesmaids will walk solo. Then during the recessional we're going to double up: bridesmaids #4 with groomsmen #4 and #5.

Definitely not weird. Just have your bridesmaids walk solo on their entrance. (Most weddings I have attended have the men enter first around the time the groom enters. Then the "formal processional" of the parents, FG, RB, bridesmaids, etc.) Then on the way out, the "extra body" could double up, or you can get creative and have them escort someone - grandma, grandpa, hold the hand of the flower girl/ring bearer, etc.

You could have the final groomsman walk 2 of the bridesmaids down the aisle! Or if you have a close guy friend, he could be incorporated on you FHs side!

Not concerning! You can have two maids for the groomsman or have them all walk single file.

It's not weird to have uneven bridal parties! In my opinion, it looks more natural

Have two of your girls walk with one guy, either make it the first 3 to walk in or last 3! My friend did that it was awesome!

I think its fine, as others have said its not uncommon. You could just have the last groomsmen walk down with two bridesmaids!

I think what matters most is that you have the bridal party you want 😊

Uneven is fine. We are having 2 MOH and 2 BM but I have a Jr. Bridesmaid too. She will just walk alone or with my daughter who is the flower girl or my ring bearer

I would have one walk by themselves or maybe with the ring bearer and flower girl if you are doing that. We plan on having it an even 3 on both sides but there is a friendship with one of my girls that is a little rocky so it might end up being uneven also. I don't think uneven parties are a problem though, it just means you get to be creative with how everyone walks down the aisle with you.

Mine is uneven. I have 5 and my fiancée has 6. Don't add an extra person for the sake of making it even! My bridesmaids will walk solo and the guys will already be at the altar.

I don't think its a big deal to have an uneven party. Mine is uneven. FH has 8 groomsmen and I have 7 bridesmaids. The plan is for them to walk in solo during the processional, and during recessional the last bridesmaid will walk out with a man on each arm, lol.

I have a uneven bridal party, 1 girl has to walk with 2 guys. I see no issue with it. I asked my girls because I can't imagine them not with me.

Uneven is totally ok. FH has 5 guys and I had 4 girls but one of my BM left (long story that I'm not happy about) so now I have 3.

I currently have a situation like that. It worked out to where I just have the best man and my MOH walking out by themselves. I think this may make them feel more important anyways. However, if something changes in how we have the order and someone else has to walk out by themselves then that is just the way it is. I would not stress about such a detail. Sometimes others just have to learn to go with the flow because planning a wedding and worrying about other details is stressful.
