Advice welcome 🩷

Internal struggle! I have a very narcissistic mother and she tends to make everything about herself. How should I handle this? As she wants to be the center of attention at all times... Especially my wedding day. I know the logical answer is "it's your wedding, do what you want, etc." which is solid advice, however, I'm trying to seek a resolution, not start world war three 😂. Anything would be helpful, especially if you've been in or are in the same position. Thanks 🩷

The honest answer: get a good wedding planner!

Find a planner and specifically talk about their experience in managing high-needs family members. Hire someone who is comfortable being the “bad guy” and totally having your back.
I can’t tell you how much my planner did specifically in that aspect on our wedding day. She literally saved so much stress! Even handled things I didn’t know about and later found out from my bridesmaids haha. Plus during planning when other people had opinions I didn’t like/want to hear, it was amazing to say “let me run it by our planner” or “our planner asked about that and the answer was no” or “our planner said that wouldn’t fit within the budget”
It is ABSOLUTELY worth the money to hire someone great.

I can ****% relate to this.

I have started from the start standing my ground and making boundaries ( which was not east whatsoever)

I frequently remind her this is MINE and my Fiances day, not hers. Dont get me wrong, she still is trying to control everything. But I feel like I have been firm but fair with her.

Its YOUR day, just remember that
