Advice cards & Guestbook?

Bree, on February 21, 2014 at 1:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

I know that advice cards are an alternative to guestbooks. We purchased a cute guestbook for guests to sign at the wedding itself. I have seen alot of posts where people put the guestbook at the reception. I dont know if its a regional thing, but every wedding I have been to the guestbook is at the ceremony. I think the advice cards are really cute, and would like to make a little table at the reception and put them on. Would that be too much writing for guests?

I think that sounds perfectly fine. You could also leave the advice cards on each table with some pens so while they wait for the food to come out they have something to enjoy. I made the advice cards for my sister's wedding (she didn't have a guest book) but it was on a table with her card box. If you want inspiration I attached the cards I made (I just bought some plain index cards that were 4x6 and used a couple stamps to make it creative. Using 4x6 allowed her to put it in a little album in the end).

We did advice cards and put them on each place setting. One side had the advice thing and the back side had our wedding photo app info. I made them using the rack cards on vp. They were so fun to read and easily one of my favorite things about our wedding. Our guest book is soooooo boring compared to our cards. I'll upload the template in the morning in case you might like to use it. I think every guest filled one out. They were a blast.

    Those are really cute!

I found a template on google that prints 4 on a sheet of paper.

I thought about index cards, but our colors are silver & navy and I dont know that I have ever seen index cards in those colors. I think I might go get some sparkly paper from Michaels tomorrow and print them out & see how they look. My FH thinks they are unnecessary but I think that when the wedding is over we will appreciate things like that.

I just saw your next comment. Our colors were gray and navy so mine might work perfectly for you! I'll upload it ASAP in the morning.

@Abbiell, yeah if you have a template that would be good. I havent decided on a style yet. I was thinking the guestbook would be boring too and after the wedding, we will only have photos and a guestbook. I think this would be a nice keepsake to have too.
