Adults Only

Erika, on April 26, 2021 at 1:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

We are having an adult only ceremony and reception, minus our flower girl.

What are some friendly, simple, and straight to the point ways I can word no kids on my invites?

The best way is to just not mention it anywhere and to address the invitations to only those who ARE invited. If someone RSVP's for their kids, just reach out and say something like "oh, thanks for returning the RSVP, but the invitation was only for you and Mr. Smith. We hope you can still make it!"

Agree with the above, just state each name individually. You can also have the RSVPs have the number of people invited (like if you are inviting Mr and Mrs Smith, but not the kids, "Accepts with pleasure ___/2 attending") And like the above said, I'm sure a few people will still not get it, but just reach out to them if they imply the kids are coming on the rsvp

For our wedding, we addressed the invites specifically to those who were invited and on our reply cards we put x number of seats have been reserved in your honor. We also put on our wedding website that while we love everyone's children that we have decided to have an adults only wedding.

Hello. I just added a line at the bottom and said “Adults Only”.

I still had people try and add their kids.

We have a section on our info that says "whilst we love your little ones, we regret we are unable to accommodate children or infants." but we've also told most of our guests in person and they were all fine with it. Those we haven't told, my MIL has kindly shared with.

Just don't invite the kids. Address your invites to Mr and Mrs. NAME. Instead of Mr and Mrs NAME AND FAMILY. You can place something on your website stating there will be no children invited. We put "We love kids! But we kindly ask that you help us keep this an adult only affair".
