Adult son as a ring bearer?

Jaime, on February 2, 2020 at 8:19 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10
I’d like to get some advice....I’m wanting to have my only son as a ring bearer in our wedding. He is 19 years old now. My fiancé has no children of his own and even though we did not live together for several years, my fiancé spent much time with us and helped me raise my boy. I need some advice....

I think that would be fine ... obviously ask if he (your son) wants to.. if not you can always have him as a groomsman..

Do what makes you happy, as long your son is ok with it. My son will be 15 when we get married (FH will be his stepdad), and I am having him walk me down the aisle with my mom. He could also be a groomsman, or even a bridesman!

If he’s fine with it, go for it.

My dad passed away a few years ago so I was thinking of having my mom walk me down the isle.... I love my son sooo much and we are really close! I do feel that it is important for him to be a part of this big day. A brides man is not a bad idea! Thank you for your input....Much appreciated

I think it's absolutely acceptable for him to be your ring berror as long as he accepts the role you could have him proceed down with the groomsmen instead of as a traditional ring berror so as to not make him feel awkward Smiley smile

Great idea! I guess I sort of asked...but now I feel like I may have been more assigning???? I think I may ask him, what place he’d rather take....ring bearer or bides-man! This brides-man thing is as new to me as having an older ring bearer. I’ll have to sleep on this! Thank you.

My almost 21 year old niece will be my flower girl. There is no rule saying they bridal party cannot be older. I say go for it.
