Adult-only Verbiage on Save the Dates?

Mary, on February 7, 2020 at 3:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Hi, friends!!

So we're having an adults-only wedding on a Friday. Since Friday is an already inconvenient day of the week especially for our few guests with children, should we include verbiage about it being an adults-only wedding on the 'save the dates' or save that for the actual invites & wedding website?

Thank you!!

I would save it for the invites but it probably wouldn't hurt to have the info on your website sooner.

I second this. I sent out my save the dates and put the info about children on the website. They will be on the invites(or details) as well.

I'm saving it for the invites. I do have a question on the faq page of the website that says "are kids invited?" where I explain that due to the venue and size restrictions it is an adults-only wedding, with the exception of children who are in the wedding.

Invites are really for people who ARE invited to the wedding, as opposed to not invited, tbh. I'd address the invite to only "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and not "The Smith Family," spread the word via word of mouth, and put it as an answer on the FAQ page of your wedding website.

I'd address the save the dates to specifically the adults and have the no kids rule as an FAQ on your website.

I just invited “Mr. & Mrs.” only. I did not say “and family” on any of the invites. Most of the guests understood. The only small children in attendance are immediate family.
