I'm looking for an alternate name for "Flower Girl" to make it more suitable for an adult woman. I'm having my cousin's daughter (age 5) as my flower girl, and I'm having her mother (age adult) officially walk with her since she'll probably want her to anyway and we have a close relationship. **I'm...

**I'm just looking for alternate names to flower girl, I am not asking whether or not you like or agree with my idea. I've seen many chats where people get very opinionated about this topic.

She's five years old and can't walk alone?

And if you want to post here for advice, you are going to get all different kinds of advice. You don't get to throw a fit and say you only want to hear advice that fits your plan/vision/ideas. WTF is the point of that?! Go ask one of your actual bridesmaids or flower snowflake princesses or whatever.

People gave you good advice. Especially @EM with the snickers. Have two.

Yeah I don't understand why she needs an escort. Why can't she walk by herself??

My Grandpa is going to bring my son (ring bearer) down the aisle, since Brady will only be 21 months and not able to do it alone. Grandpa has dubbed himself the ring bearer bearer, so maybe go with something like that.

It's kind of weird that you are insisting on a kindergartener's mother escorting her down the aisle rather than just having her be a bridesmaid if the two of you really are that close.

No offense but it sounds to me like you wanted the kid in the wedding and felt like the mom would say no unless she was included.

I love this! The 12 year old boy I babysit is the person taking this traditional job. Why? Because he asked and I love him. I'm always shocked that I have to explain to people why I'm doing something slightly different. Don't make her be a bridesmaid just to try and fit a more traditional mold of wedding but do what your gut says! Hmmm adult flower girl ...bear with me, just spit balling..."Mother Nature" "blooming mother of the bride" "flower maid or maiden" "blossom babe" "petal partner"....idk haha but it's a great idea

I am glad you brought this up! I am looking too to have an adult flower girl. I also don't care what anyone else thinks of it but couldn't think of a good title. I do like flower maiden!

I got me two Flower Ladies in my wedding. One age 18 and one 26. Its all good. No need to stress when they are just walking 10 feet throwing pedals around.

My best friend is getting married which is her and her future husband's second. I introduced them to each other 10 years ago. He vowed never to marry again and was so sure that he said if he did, I could be their "flower girl". Fast forward, here we are and she is having her two granddaughter's as flower girls and I will be the flower maiden walking behind them :-)

I don’t think the OP is being rude or cranky at all. Pretty fair of OP to have a legimate question and ask people to be helpful or just be quiet. I mean wow

I have the same question because my flower girl will get scared because she's only 2 and shy. She is my granddaughter and she's walking with my two adult daughters. I need to know what to call them for the program

I love this idea and am doing it as well! I think I'm landing on 'flower girls'. It's so sweet and a special way to invite another person of honor into the day.
