Adult "Flower Girl"

MeandMrJones, on September 19, 2016 at 7:46 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

How many other Brides having Adult Flower girls? I asked my younger sister, who's relationship I been mending, to walk with her daughter in our wedding as a Flower Girl too, she agrees too it and I personally thinks it's cute. When I announce my wedding party to my bridesmaids they all were kind of a shocked I chose her to be one so I think she kind of was embarrassed about it, but I'm not sure. I'm so untraditional so I was cool with it. Are there any other Adult flower girls out there or have you been to a wedding with one? Should I have some kind of "smoothing over" talk with her about it?

I think it's cute! I've seen grandmas as the flower women and they were adorable. It's a nice gesture and a cute way to include her.

I think it's a cute idea and little kids can be very unpredictable having her mother with her may help calm the little ones nerves

I think it's totally fine to have her walk her daughter down. If I was her, I just wouldn't want my name listed as a flower girl. I would just be the mother of the flower girl and be helping her get down the aisle. But the title would go to my daughter.

Just my opinion though Smiley smile

It was probably a shock because it isn't the norm. I'd totally go with it. I love the idea.

I agree with Jersey. If it were me I would feel more comfortable with helping the flowergirl vs being listed as the flowergirl.

I think it's a fantastic idea, and that mother and daughter will look very sweet together.

I think it's cute when it is an adults' only wedding. But since her purpose is to get your niece down the aisle, I would keep it that way and not give her a title

I thought it was cute too. I told her she's my honorary bridesmaid so I include her in the social events with my bridesmaids.

My close friend is walking along with her two year old daughter. I consider them both to be the flower girls! Smiley smile

A good friend of mine just asked me to be her flower girl (I'm 28, btw) and I honestly don't feel weird about it at all - I have a sort of goofy sense of humor and if it's what the bride wants - why not contribute in the way that was asked?

My grandmother is my flower girl! I asked her to be a bridesmaid but because of some physical limitations she had concerns. We decided together on this and I could not be happier about it!
