Adjusted Save the Date for November 2021??

Katy, on July 14, 2020 at 1:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
We have picked a fabulous venue and our wedding date will be 11/20/21. I am wondering if I should send save the dates early—like a year early. 2021 is going to be packed with weddings because of all the postponements AND our wedding will be the weekend before thanksgiving. I want to give my guests enough notice because it is likely they will have many other postponed events to attend and it is close to the holiday season. Almost all of our guests will be traveling from out of state.

Is sending the save the dates in November this year acceptable?

I would say yes, all things considered. I sent mine about a year out before even knowing a whole pandemic was coming. Especially since your wedding is over a holiday weekend with lots of travelers, it couldn't hurt.

We are also getting married in November 2021 and I plan on sending out save the dates by January at the latest. There are a LOT of rescheduled weddings happening and I want to also make sure people have enough notice of ours. We’ve been receiving save the dates a year out for the past few weddings we’ve gone to, so I think you’d be fine sending yours out this November. If you do Christmas cards you could even stick them in with your Christmas cards to save a little postage.

About a year out is typical if most of your guests will be traveling, so I don’t see why you cannot send yours then!

    Totally! Go for it!!

I sent my Save the Dates out a year in advance, even in pre-pandemic times! I know my friends' schedules book up early so I wanted to make sure I got my wedding on their calendar early. 💌

Wedding date twins!! I have been thinking the same thing I think I am going to do with the sending them with Christmas cards like the PP mentioned.

I’ve been wondering the same thing for my October 2021 wedding. I already ordered our save the dates and have most of them addressed, and I am considering whether or not to send them a little earlier than a year out because of all of the weddings that have been rescheduled. I know the rule of thumb is 12 months at the earliest, but I feel like there are exceptions during uncertain times like these (I’m also just really excited to send them ☺️).
