Adhesive Push-up Bras

Rachel, on January 31, 2022 at 10:18 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

Ladies!

Looking for some advice on the best undergarment for my wedding dress. The front of my dress has a deep-v and the back is pretty open as well. I would really prefer to not wear Spanx (or any kind of shapewear) but I'd also like the girls to have good lift. I haven't always had the best luck with adhesive bras but I also have only worn them once or twice. Tape is an option but the straps on my dress are thin so I'm not sure that's the best solution.

Any suggestions or recommendations on best adhesive bras?

Has your tailor recommended an adhesive bra to you? Start with their recommendation, since they're seeing how the deep-V hangs on you and what type of support you need. Depending on your cup size, you might have the option to have your tailor sew bust cups into your gown to help keep you in place. My tailor said that bust cups are an option for up to a C cup.

I also had a deep-V and an open back, and a couple of meltdowns in the search for shapewear. Check out Brassybra. If you need more lift, look at an over-the shoulder, clear strap silicone version like this: https://amzn.to/3AOOZZC I know you said your straps are thin. Maybe there is a way to minimally trim the bra straps.

Whatever you decide, order 2 sets so you have one to try on at one of your fittings as practice. Also invest in a roll of shaping tape in case you need extra security under your arms. Pay close attention to the instructions about applying only to clean, bare, dry skin.

Thank you, this was SUPER helpful. I haven’t had a fitting yet but I know my seamstress will want me to have the undergarments I plan to wear on my wedding day when I go for the fitting. I’ll be at the boutique in a few weeks for my bridesmaids so I’ll definitely ask their advice then.
