Addressing Save the Dates

Jillian, on August 2, 2020 at 1:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 22
Hello! I was wondering how other brides addressed their save the dates or invitations. My original thought was to buy address labels and type them out so I could print and stick them on the envelope but the font that fits in the label seems a little too small and I can’t configure my printer to get them to print in the correct area. Has anyone else tried this or ordered them online? I’m thinking of hand writing them too.

We ran the envelopes through our printer and printed the addresses directly onto them.

Ours will be directly printed on. We should be receiving them tomorrow. You can also check etsy for labels as well.

I bought labels and downloaded the coordinating template (from Avery brand). The labels come in a variety of sizes. I also downloaded a few free fonts to test out which ones had the look I was going for and played around with the size to make it as big as possible. This was super helpful for save the dates! I’m going to have the addresses for invitations actually printed on the envelope from Minted.

We had the addresses printed on the envelopes by the stationary store we ordered them from.

Handwrite them. Split up the task with fiance, bridesmaids, etc.

I have received wedding invitations with mailing labels in the past and they were so smeared from the elements that it was a wonder they got to their intended destinations.

I hand wrote the addresses for our save-the-dates and printed them on our actually-save-this-dates. It was about the same amount of work each time, and I found handwriting them a lot less frustrating, so I'd recommend that. One thing that made it a little bit easier was that we bought a return address stamp, so I didn't have to worry about writing those out or lining up the envelopes in the printer twice.

I bought Avery labels from Amazon. I typed the mailing address and placed it on front of the envelope with stamp. Together it was a little tight, so I typed the return address and placed those on the back of the envelope. Everyone received their save the date. Plus you can save your file and just reprint when it’s time for invitations.

I addressed them all by hand, but I only had twenty-four. I did buy a custom stamp with our address rather than writing that out over and over.

We used Minted for our save the dates and they offered complimentary address printing on envelopes.

I used my Cricut to address mine. It was a labor of love, but it turned out great. Does anyone you know have one that they’d let you borrow?

We handwrote all of ours, though we didn't have too many, so it was easier. We bought a stamp with our names/address on it so we could just stamp that part, but handwrote everything else.

I ordered envelopes one with the addresses printed for us. My husband has terrible handwriting and my hands sweat so it wouldn't have been a good idea for us to write them.

I ordered custom address labels from Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/WildArrowPaper

Did those for our save the dates, and going to be doing them for our change of plans cards and some invitations (since the complimentary addressing from Minted has character space limitations that would cut off about 5 of our addresses).

We used labels with a more fancy font. I could’ve handwritten them, but it would’ve taken forever because I would’ve written them in pencil the over again in pen and if there was a mistake I would’ve been really mad.
Labels allowed me to proof twice before actually going to final print

We’re writing our Save the Date addresses by hand but having the maker of the invitations print those addresses onto the envelopes for us.

Check out Colorful Images, they sell gorgeous return address labels, envelope stickers, basically everything that you need! As for the guest addresses, I used Avery Labels edited in Excel. They're super easy to use, even for long international addresses! Smiley laugh Theres a lot of Youtube videos that can help for troubleshooting!

We used really nice clear labels (30 per page) and a 3-line address didn’t look small at all.
