Addressing save the dates to family with children over 18

KZP1021, on May 21, 2017 at 6:49 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

We are addressing our save the dates and I am wondering if I need to send separate save the dates for each child in a household if they are over 18. We are absolutely planning on doing this when addressing our invitations, but it seems overkill for a save the date.

You'll get different advice on this. I sent one invite to families with young adults still living at home (recent high school grads). I did this for both my STDs and will be doing so for my invites. I'm inviting them with their parents and not sending a separate invitation.

If they live in the same house, they're getting the same invite

I'm doing one per household save the dates and separate invites.

I think one STD per household is fine but you're definitely right by sending separate invites.

This may be a UO, but I think it's silly to send separate invites just because they're over 18. Now if the adult has moved out of his/her parents' house, then absolutely. But if they are still living with parents, I say just include them. For weddings my whole family was invited to, I was always included on the invitation until I moved out, which was just a year ago at age 21. I never thought anything about it, I didn't realize people sent separate invites to the same house until I came to WW. I would literally be sending FOUR invites to one house if I did this which is honestly ridiculous. But that's just my two cents.

Did anyone else read this as "addressing STDs to family with over 18 children?" I've been surfing this site too long already. My eyes need a break lol.
