Addressing outer envelopes...hand written or printed?

What did everyone do for their invitation envelopes? If you printed them, did you do it yourself or did you get it done? If you got it done, where is a good place to get them printed for a good price?

I am printing each of mine. I had to type in all of the addresses anyway so I just printed them instead of using labels.

For the small RSVP envelopes, I am ordering blank 4bar white envelopes and I ordered (and received) a custom address stamp. I will be stamping our address on the front of the white RSVP envelope for a custom look. I don't think that size envelope can be printed, so my option was a sticker/label and I didn't care for that. I'm really happy with how the rubber stamp turned out!

I ran my envelopes through my printer so that it printed directly on them and it looked great! I didn't know how to do a mail merge and didn't understand it after reading 3 different tutorials on it so I just went to word, changed the page size to the size of my envelopes, centered the text and entered down a few lines, then typed each address. After that I put a page break and kept going. I know its the long way to do it, but since I didn't know how to do a mail merge it worked and looks beautiful! One bit of advice is if you use a printer and a slick envelope (glossy or metallic), if it smears, spray it lightly with hairspray right after it comes out of the printer and let it dry.

Oh and have a few extra envelopes to test print... I learned that I had to turn mine sideways to go through the printer.
