Addressing Envelopes

Cali, on May 1, 2017 at 4:49 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 40

Hi!

How is everyone addressing their envelopes? Are you getting them printed directly on the envelope, handwriting yourself, using labels?! I'm not sure what the best way is!

I plan on using labels probably. I have a silhouette cameo so if I figure out something I like I could use that as well but right now my plan is to use clear labels

I printed on my home printer. I downloaded fonts from dafont.com.

I just started handwriting them, I am using cursive for their names and smaller font in capitol print for the address. I'm doing about 15 a night until I have to send them out and using a post card to make sure I'm writing them in a straight line. So far so good! I also ordered a return address stamp so I didn't have to hand write that either

I did the handwriting myself. I *tried* to learn calligraphy by using free, online worksheets and a brush pen I bought off Amazon. They weren't perfect, but I think they looked really nice.

We ordered printed envelopes through Wedding Paper Divas. They turned out so pretty.

We are buying our envelopes from Minted, and they will address them for no additional charge. The cost of the envelopes is exactly the same as what we would pay through the local print shop where we are getting our invitations. We got a nice personalized stamp for the return address and the RSVP address.

My FMIL had a cricut and I seen some really cute pins on invitation addressing so I'm using it. Smiley smile

I used my cricut and a gold gel pen to address them.

Labels! Nothing wrong with them as the envelope gets thrown out anyways!

FH printed stuff directly on the envelope, because he's better at technical stuff and has infinitely more patience with Word's mail merge nonsense.

Going back, I'd probably just pay for it to be done when i ordered the invites.

I already have a Cursive club at work. I'm an educator and I am teaching myself roundhand script calligraphy.

I'm doing labels. Don't want to budget printing them when I can do labels for free. People throw the envelope out anyway.

I recommend printing directly on the envelope (if possible) or these adorable wrap labels. The US Post Office prefers printed addresses for optimal delivery.

I also went through WPD's. I used minted for STD's and both came out pretty. If I would have had more time then I would have liked to trace the text with a gold pen but I had to sacrifice that.

I hired a calligrapher on Etsy Smiley smile it was $1 per envelope! Very affordable and her work was beautiful. (Addresses blurred out for privacy)

I used clear labels. Idgaf if labels are tacky, it's an envelope that gets thrown in the trash. Pick your battles lol. I used a cursive font for names and a more readable font for the addresses since that seems to be the biggest mailing issue.
