Addressing a multi-family home?

M2H, on February 26, 2013 at 6:38 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

I'm trying to address the envelopes for STD. I need help with the recipient on the address.

My aunt and her kids (and sometimes another aunt and/or another cousin) live with their mom. BUT they all have different last names. Would i include everyone's name on the envelope or just "gma & family?"

Hey M2H I had the same problem. So I just sent 2 Save The Dates To each of them. That way there was no hurt feelings or confusion on who was invited to the wedding.

Well it is up to you ( I would save postage) but your suppose to invite anyone over 18 seperately so they would each get an invite for them and their family. I would put gma and family or do an inside envelope with all the names on it.

I considered Save the Date's less formal. I only sent 1 STD to each household. When it came to formal invitations everyone over 18 got their own. I am from a house hold with different last names. There were no hurt feelings regarding last name confusion but every blended family is different. I would write everyone's full name

    Ex:

    Mr. & Mr.s XXX

    John XXX

    Joe XXX

Thanks i really do want to save on postage and amount of cards being sent out.

@morgan I agree with them being less formal and my family is not used to getting formal invites anyways so thanks for the input!
