Addresses

Hello! So I have started the search for the addresses of all my guest. Any suggestions or ideas or tips on what would make this process easier? Thanks!

I just sent a quick text message asking for their full name and address. I did my half of the list and FH did his half of the list. It was really pretty easy and most people got back to us really quickly.

I split them up. FMIL got her guests and their family, my mom got our family and their friends, and we got our friends. Also, addresses are public record, so for a few people, if I knew they hadn't moved and the city they lived in, I just Googled them and got them through the Whitepages website.

My aunt and FMIL handled the family members and FH and I split our friends. Smiley smile I just sent a text.

I was lucky in that FMIL got me all the addresses for FH's side. I had a lot of my side already, as I like to keep an address book. The ones I didn't have I just sent emails or texts to people to ask for them. Luckily it didn't take too long.

If someone in your family or FH's family was married within the last year, ask them for a copy of addresses. We just did that with my FH's cousin as she is getting married in July and we're sending out Save the Dates after her wedding.

I had my FMIL, my mom, and my aunt send me their address lists for Christmas cards, and from my cousins recent wedding. Then I sent email/texts to fill in the blanks.

I had the moms handle each side of the family and husband and I handled the friends. I personally send a quick message to get the address from our engagement party and save it. In some cases I confirmed by the time I send the invite for those who possible moved.

I just sent out quick texts to everyone "Hey! can you send me your address?" while I was watching TV one night and had my lap top with me. I literally just copied and pasted that same message to everyone. As they came in, I entered them into my spreadsheet. Everyone responded really fast and I was able to get everyone done in about 30 minutes. No one questioned anything, if they know you're engaged, they probably know why you are asking or their address and will give it happily.

There really isn't an easy way to do this. I contacted my part of the guest list, asked FH to do the same, and I also asked my mom to contact her other relatives and friends. it took a little while so start early.

Our save the dates was electronically and there was a button that sent them to the start of our website and it asked if they are likely to come (since it’s a destination wedding) and their address and other basic information.

Just call or text. If your fiance is anything like mine (waited last minute & can talk your ear off), better ask him to send text messages. lol

Following, do I send out a link and then send them invites?😅 wasn’t sure what route to take. I made a postables account. Has anyone used this?

We took care of what we already had thanks to previous Christmas cards, etc. For any of our missing friends I asked for them directly. For family members, we asked our parents to help round up any other addresses.
