Address Return Labels and Etiquette

Deryn, on December 22, 2017 at 5:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19
I know it’s more formal to write out addresses on invites/STDs, but did you all order personalized address labels or just write everything out? I’m ordering my STDs and going back and forth on ordering personalized address labels (for return and guests) in general. FH and i do not live together, but i was going to have the return address be my address since my family is hosting the wedding (or general etiquette ruling). Thanks!

I'm extremely vain about my pretty handwriting, so I'm looking forward to having an excuse to show it off, even though I doubt anyone will notice lol. If it weren't for my silly vanity, I would order labels to save the time of addressing them!

I opted to have the return address printed on the back flap of our envelopes when we ordered them.

I got an adorable stamp from etsy and can't wait to use it on STDs and invites. I think it's fine!

Nope. I got labels that I think look 100% neater than handwriting our address. I am also printing clear labels for the delivery address. If people want to judge they can come over and address these invites and STDs for me.

We ordered a stamp from Vistaprint. We own a house together so we will be able to use it after the wedding as well. We just used our first names and a giant monogram C because both of our last names start with a C so nothing changes once we are married. I found the stamp to be super easy to use and it looks a little better than a label.

I ordered printed RSVP envelopes from Vistaprint that matched our invitations - they were pretty cheap. I ordered a stamp (about $25) on Etsy with our first names and address on it for the back of the invitations. We had the recipient addresses printed through Minted, but the price was too high to have the return address printed on their for some reason.

So for everyone saying get a stamp, would it be easier to just get one with the monogram letter and then my parents address? I still live with them and they’re paying for the wedding (FH and i are paying for STDs and invites). My current last name starts with a P, (New last name will start with an S) so should i just do that and then just leave it with my parents after? For return labels, i was just thinking of doing FH and I’s first names and my parents address if they can do a stamp for that even. I’ll look at Etsy!

I'm going to write mine, then I will probably give up on writing and order labels.

We ordered from Basic Invite, which included free address printing, so ours are printed. They look pretty! Way prettier than if I would’ve wrote them out, plus I would’ve needed twice the amount of envelopes because I’m a perfectionist. So it worked out nicely and saved me a TON of time!

We bought refurn adress labels for the RSVP envelopes, so we won’t be writing those out either.

I actually had the website we ordered our STD’s and invites through print the addresses on the envelopes. I simply wasn’t going to hand write anyone’s address. With my luck, I would mess it up and ruin the envelope.

I bought a Groupon for Mason Row stamps. It was $30 and we pause $13 for tax and shipping. We got one stamp with two inserts. We live together and have owned our home for 5 years. I did the heart one to use for save the dates and invitations and then the last name one for thank yous and from there on out. I wanted ones we could use for more than just the wedding and liked that I could just buy new inserts as needed.

I did a custom return label and template for addresses in Word and printed them directly to my envelopes for STDs. So cheap and easy!

My FH and I don't live together either. I put his address because this is where any gifts or pre-wedding gifts should go. When u marry and move-in, people will want to know your home address.

My handwriting is deplorable, as well as my FH. We are just printing off labels. May not be the prettiest, but it's much better than my illegible handwriting.

I'm going to print out the recipient's name/address on mailing labels and then I bought an embosser with our address (found it on Groupon for like $25-$30).

I ordered address labels with the return address off of vistaprint. I got the ones that match my invitations and I think that they look nice.
