Address Labels

Cassandra, on August 28, 2013 at 8:04 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

My invitations should be arriving soon. Is everyone writing the addresses on the envelopes or are you having labels printed? If labels, where are you having them printed?

You should hand write them or print directly on the envelope but NO labels.

I am not a fan of labels generally, but won't judge you if you go that route. I really wanted to hand write mine, but I am such a perfectionist that every little teenie tiny mistake bothered me. I ended up printing on the envelopes and it looked amazing!

We're using matching labels for our invites and RSVP for the return address.

But I am printing the mailing address on them if its in my budget. Otherwise, I'll sit down with a couple beers and take my time handwriting them all out.

I've done it for friends weddings etc, so I know after a couple they'll look really good. Or at least decent!

Printing the address on the envelope is free...from your own printer.

    I don't have a printer. Or I'd do it. How's that?

When we moved FHs expensive a$$ crazy printer got broken. We can scan stuff but can't print with it.

So I'd have to take them to a printer. But that's just me.

Cheetah- that makes sense. I wouldn't have been able to figure out how to do it from another printer, cause I copied and pasted the addresses into the document I printed from (I am pretty sure that was the hard way, but I had given up at that point trying to figure it out, lol).

If your writing is good, I still prefer handwritten over the printer anyway.

LABELS!! Or else the mailman won't have any clue where to mail it to.

Seriously, if you can't afford to hire a calligrapher or you have chicken scratch hand writings, clear labels with a pretty font will do JUST FINE!

We used labels, too. You can find clear ones at any office supply place, Staples, Office Depot, etc.

We did clear labels with a calligraphy font as well!! They looked gorgeous Smiley smile A friend of mine got married last year and REALLY wanted her invites hand-styled...so she paid an arm and a leg to have it done and to this day, says it's her biggest financial mistake of the wedding, b/c hardly anyone noticed.

We just got a pack of Avery clear mailing labels at Staples, typed them all in and then EMAILED them as a Word document to the Staples and they printed it there with their laser printer (our home printer is ink jet, and we were worried about streaks). We had 4 sets printed - STD, invitations, thank you cards, MISC (you never know when you'll need a label!). I think all together we spent maybe $15 (for labels & printing). It's an easy, and inexpensive way to get it done! Good luck!

PS - you can find awesome fonts for FREE online! I think we got ours at abstractfonts.com Smiley smile

I'm actually addressing my envelopes now. Lol. I was going to use regular labels ones that I can print from my computer because calligraphy does look beautiful but I refused to spend so much on addressing envelopes; anyway after I did one I didn't like the way it turned out. So I am hand writing all of them and they do not look bad at all.
