Adding straps or bolero or shrug?

Omi Omi, on February 26, 2017 at 10:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Has anyone found any great options for adding straps or, Sleeves or anything like that to their dress? I bought my dress second hand and it's beautiful but it is strapless and I don't really love that fact. I found a bunch of boleros and stuff on eBay but the first one came in the mail today and it's totally garbage, surprise!

I'm sure if I ordered five different ones ($35-200 each) one of them would work l, but I don't want to end up with a bunch of excess garbage! I don't think I have the funds to go to an alterations person to remake that part of the dress because we're trying to do this pretty low-budget. But of course I still want to be beautiful! Any suggestions anyone? Or any boleros or shrugs you've found? I wish I could find a little stretchy 1/2 or 3/4 sleeves that slightly attached to the dress. Or this keyhole add on pictured here.

I don't understand why you wouldn't take it to a tailor. It will probably be cheaper than buying things blind off the Internet that likely will not work.

Go to a bridal shop. They sell these and can add to your dress with just buttons on the inside. So you can put on or off. They won't have to remake your dress.

I had a keyhole added to a strapless dress, and LOVE it. (it was actually the one thing I knew I wanted in my dress when I originally went shopping)

I say take it to seamstress and buy the fabric. It will look better, as one piece, and probably not cost that much.
