Adding rosary beads , but the meaning isn't what people think

Lindsey, on June 7, 2017 at 2:17 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

I have a set of rosary beads that I keep with me. There's a story that goes with it, I don't keep it for prayer but as a rememberance of my grandmother who passed. I gave it to her when she got sick and the day she wassuppoed to get buried w it it disappeared and I couldn't findit until after she was buried. So to me it's kinda like a sign and I keep it as a reminder of her and for years and years I have Charished it . ( if you don't believe in that kinda stuff please don't harass me ..:that's just the background of the story )

I want to Incorporate it in either the ceremony with me or in a picture but neither me or my FH are catholic so I'm not sure if it is appropriate? They are red which clash with my color theme but maybe I can atleast honor her with a picture and change to black and white ? I don't want to offend anyone at the wedding either but I would like to keep as a memory.

I've seen rosary beads entwined with a bouquet. Anything less subtle than that and you risk offending any Catholics in your friends and family.

I think that is a beautiful story! May I ask where did you find them after she was buried? I love hearing stories like this.

Would you be able to wrap them around your bouquet? You can have photos done with them, but it won't be obvious to your guests that they are there.

I wrapped my H'a great-grandmother's rosary around my bouquet.

Rosary beads aren't exclusively Catholic. If you want to carry them to feel your grandmother's presence with you on your wedding day, do it. As a Catholic, I would never side-eye someone who wasn't Catholic carrying rosary beads.

I believe in that stuff. So yeah, Grandma is always with you.

Hold it, wear it, put it in your bouquet or stuff it in your brassiere--anything you want.

It's your wedding, your grandma and your memory Smiley smile

I like the idea of wrapping them around the bouquet, that way they will be close by you during the ceremony.

I had a gold pin of my dear friends on my bouquet, the only gold thing in the wedding. It didn't match a single thing! I personally only wear white gold and silver. But that didn't stop me- the pin was perfect around my bouquet, every time I'd brush over it with my thumb I would think of my dear friend and how she was with us in spirit that day. My point: don't shy away just because it doesn't match your colors. It's totally fine. Smiley smile

If your wedding dress has pockets you could put it in one off the pockets?
