Janelle- You seriously gave your dog medication for the sole reason of keeping him calm so he could be in your wedding? This doesn't seem ok...

ETA: Seriously, I'm bothered by this. You wouldn't drug a kid at a social function so they remain calm...you shouldn't drug your dog to suit your needs.

I really want to have our fur babies in our wedding! I think it's a great to incorporate dogs into ceremonies if they're comfortable enough around crowds. My schnauzer-dachshund mix, Teddy Bear, will be our ring "bear," and our Miniature Pinscher, Lily Pad, will be our flower girl.

ETA: The hotel where we're having the wedding is dog-friendly so one of our friends will be in charge of taking the dogs back to the room where they can rest and relax in their kennels after the ceremony. If you plan on having your dog in your ceremony you a) definitely need a plan to make sure the dog is comfortable, and b) expect that it won't go exactly as planned Smiley winking Dogs have minds of their own. I fully expect Lily to shred her flowered collar I want her to wear.

We desperately want to have my dog in our wedding too as the ring bearer, but for all the reasons that Pinguino said, we are unfortunately deciding against it. We are about an hour away from home, so there's really no place we can put him after there ceremony, and I;m worried he'd get stressed around mariachi music and 130 people LOL! Stupid reality!!

We also wanted our little girl in the wedding, but don't want to have to figure out the logistics after the ceremony. Since our dog sitter is my MOH, we're going to have to kennel her for the first time ever. It's killing us, but it's not fair to stress her, or any of our guests we'd have to ask to take her.

Yea.... Our dog was really cute and smart when he was younger too. Then he became a giant dopey idiot and that was totally over lol. #1 I'm not having any of my guests clean up poop or have to leave the celebration to bring the dog home. #2 not about to risk dirty paw prints or tears in my dress. Dogs are good for short photo appearances, otherwise they should not be bothered and left to relax at home.

We're having our dogs in our ceremony. They will go on a long run that morning courtesy of FH so they'll be tired and then they'll be walked in by a GM and BM. Sit at the front during the ceremony then walked out and in their kennels for the evening. They're used to this as they're crated when we're at work. No idea how it will turn out, but that's the plan.

Your puppy is adorable! Maxx is an important part of our family and thinks he's human, but I am just too scared he will pee on someone out of excitement. Or poop walking down the aisle. Nope.

And just for your amusement, this is what happens when I leave my 12-year-old alone with the dog and a camera...
