Adding lace sleeves onto a strapless dress

Alishya, on January 17, 2018 at 2:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
I love my dress but I wanted to add lace sleeves onto it to achieve the vintage look I'm dreaming of. I've been searching google forever to see if it's at all possible for my dress type but I've found nothing yet. Has anyone had this issue, or found any success trying to add lace sleeves onto their dress?

BHLDN has toppers you can wear over the strapless dress to give it that look. I'm sure they can be added but it might be worth a look.

I'd speak with your seamstress. They will be able to provide the best information for you. Personally, I don't see it being a problem but, you will need to ask to be sure.

I had my dress custom made. The sleeves were one of the last items added. It was a pretty simple process. They measured my arm and then pinned the lace in place to where I wanted it. Since this was after the bodice was completed, I don't think your seamstress will have any problem adding lace sleeves to your dress.

I bought a lace top/jacket at the boutique where I bought my dress. Mine is off-the-shoulder but you might ask your dress shop.

    Here's mine pre-altered

I’m planning to get lace straps added...I bought the matching lace. But if for some reason the seamstresss can’t, you can also do a bolero or jacket. I saw many beautiful ones online and have it in the back of my head as an option!

I would contact a seamstress to see what they can do. I know the one that works where I bought my dress from has a ton of extras that she can add to dresses. Good luck!
