Adding 'guest' to save the date

Jodie, on September 8, 2019 at 8:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
Hi! I'm curious about addressing save the date cards. If everyone is traveling out of state to my wedding and I'm trying to get the word out sooner rather than later... should I add 'and guest' to the attendee save the dates who I know will have a plus one? Or is that for invitation only? My thought behind adding 'guest' is that they will have time to prepare and arrange the travel with their plus one as well. Thanks for any feedback!

I put and guest. I think it’s important that they know they can make travel plans with someone. That may also be a big influence on whether they even decide to come or not which people traveling need to decide ahead of time.

If they’re in a relationship, both people should be addressed by name. Single guests who you are giving a plus one, I would indicate that on the save the date so they can make accommodations.

I did and guest. All of my guests had to travel and I wanted people to know they could bring a friend if they didn’t have a significant other.

We just addressed it to the single person but let them know in conversation that they were welcome to bring a guest.

I did and guest if the person was single and traveling/didn't know anyone. Everyone else was invited by name.

We didn't put "and guest" on save the dates, but if they had an SO we just put both names.
