Adding a Virtual Option

Jackie, on January 13, 2021 at 9:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

Has anyone done/planning doing a add-on virtual option for guest who cant make it? I haven't sent out my invitations yet (US destination wedding but for the most part its a 8hr distance so I know there guest who may not travel)

Zoom? - I started an account but not sure how to word the description and make a nice set up. (Currently watching YouTube Videos)

Should I do both Ceremony & Reception? My Ceremony spot may have horrible service. Or look into getting a wifi Hotspot?

Should I worry about reception only?

I need some advice.

Hi Jackie, our videographer does this for many couples and they typically handle setting up and technical aspects of it. We ended up not doing a virtual option but considered it with our videographer. Hope this helps ❤️

If you're thinking of adding a virtual option, I think the ceremony is the important one to stream. That's the main part people want to see.

Most of his family lives in California but we live in Florida and we can’t ask everyone to take time off and spend money to fly out here so we made a facebook page since facebook allows you to livestream and most people have a facebook. (also for the older people in his family its easier to figure out than zoom)

Also we’re doing a Mifi (a personal wifi hotspot that works on 4G) and only streaming the ceremony. We worded it as “Join us Virtually for our ceremony! We want to make our ceremony as accessible as possible, so if you can’t make it in person for any reason feel free to join us live to be a part of our big day!”
