Our table numbers are tree names to match our fall/autumn theme. We're big fans of being outdoors too, so we thought this would add a personal touch to our wedding. I actually designed all of our centerpieces (found some ideas on pinterest and etsy) and wound up saving close to $2500 for flowers. Got all the supplies at a craft store and spent a couple weeks hot-gluing everything together. The table runners match the bridesmaids dresses too. I like to do things that haven't necessarily been done before - I think people appreciate it more Smiley smile

Some of our engagement photos will be used, signature cocktails, as well as a chalkboard sign or two, since I'm a teacher Smiley smile

FH and I made a long sign to hang on the wall of our reception that says "everything we know about love we learned from you" and then we are hanging out parents/g-patrnts, and sibling wedding pics around it..

There will be mini realistic dragonflies on our centerpieces, and dragonflies are my favorite. But probably the most important thing we are personalizing that we haven't told anyone is our first dance song. We are going straight from introduction into our first dance, then having dinner and speeches and dancing after. We both love electronic dance music and met at a night club and went to raves together. So I have a live local talented musician playing an acoustic/looped version of a dance music song we both like. Cinema - by Benny Benassi & Gary Go.

I am beyond excited for this. He's also performing an acoustic version of Feel So Close by Calvin Harris for my walk down the aisle. I think a majority of our guests from the rave scene will love it and think it's as meaningful to us as we think it is Smiley smile

Might I add I love this thread ! For our wedding we're going to have childhood photos of us matching our age to the table number. Saw it on pinterest and loved it.

Our touches in the reception were

Table numbers that had couples from shows and movies we like- superheros, harry potter, Star Wars, Doctor Who, the office, HIMYM

Our cake topper said "You're My Lobster" which is from friends

Then we had a guest book with engagement pictures, and a canvas print to sign

Other personal touches were in clothing

I am Irish and German but my grandmother who raised me was Irish. I remember her telling me about Irish weddings. Irish weddings are usually held by a body of water and guest would toss stones into the water with their wish for the couple. Well I am getting married no where around water so we are buying a fountain and having guest sign flat rocks to place in the fountain. Got that idea off of the internet. After the wedding the fountain goes in the yard and the stones will be placed in a vase. After the wedding we will pass chocolate coins to the guest as we walk out. Irish custom is to pass coins for prosperity. Grandma told me that after the wedding the groom and bride ate a bread made of oatmeal and salt. I never was told why. We are giving oatmeal cookies as favors. I will have a horseshoe on the stem of my bouquet. I am going to have a figure of Deadpool peeking from under the small cake at the top of our cupcake stand. FH loves Deadpool. I love Christmas so the wedding is the weekend right after Thanksgiving so Christmas it is. All my friends and family now that all the Christmas is 100% me. There is a big book shelve that is made into the wall on the way to the reception hall. I like the idea of placing an established sign and placing pictures of FH and myself. Just got that Idea from her. Thanks!

We call each other "bear" so we're putting some bear touches throughout the wedding. Bear cake toppers, escort cards, and each table is named after a bear.

I had a peas in a pod cake topper made - it matches NOTHING else in the wedding but it is something important to just us and FH and I will use it as a Christmas ornament after the wedding.

FH and I are both nurses so our favors will have something to do with that, either mini first aid kits or chocolate covered pretzels that look like thermometers.
