Added Slit to Ballgown

Liz, on February 12, 2020 at 1:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
Have you added a slit to your ballgown? I’m contemplating adding one (already got quotes from 2 seamstresses that say it’s doable and that the tulle in the front will be removed so *some* poof might go down). Photo of me in my dress and of a ballgown with a slit. Added Slit to Ballgown 1

I don't think it'll matter because ya dress is so big down bottom will anyone notice the slit?? That dress is different and doesn't look as heavy as yours it looks more flowey material that compliments a slit. But hey if you want a slit do it.

The dress with the slit doesn't look like a ballgown to me, it looks more A-line or tighter on the body but the way she is walking made it look wider.

Agree with people above. The dress with a slit looks like an A-line and a different fabric. I think your dress is beautiful without the slit Smiley smile

Absolutely love a wedding dress with a salad! However, I do not think it is going to look the way you had hoped with your gown. The material of your gown is much heavier than the one in the picture, and it is also not the same silhouette – yours is a ballgown and hers is an A-line. The material of your gown is not going to flow and show the leg. Unfortunately, with your dress, it would probably just be a waste of money.

Wedding dress and salads shouldn't be in the same sentence hahaha I love your correction. You might be right but I'm not necessarily looking to add the slit for when I'm walking (I'll really only be "walking" with people looking at me down the aisle but more so for photos and with photos, I can pull it open, yeah?

    I know right?! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Although, I DO love a good salad 😆
And yeah, if you are not interested in the dress moving like the one in the picture, then I say go for it!

If you Google image search “ Pleated ballgown with slit“ it actually comes up with several dresses that have heavier materials like yours, and they look fantastic in pictures!

Your dress will be much prettier without a slit, in my opinion.

PLEATED! I kept looking up “wedding ballgowns with slit” and very few results were yielded but my dress is definitely pleated so this is hugely helpful!!
