Acrylic welcome sign

Lo, on August 26, 2018 at 6:26 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 15
Hi everyone! I am looking for a “welcome to our wedding” sign and I need opinions on acrylic as the material. My only concern is that people won’t be able to read it since it’s on a clear backdrop. Did anyone order or use these and do you recommend? Pics welcome Smiley smile

We're doing an acrylic one. I just really liked the way it looked with the clean lines and whatnot. This was my inspo pic that I sent to my florist who is putting the sign together

I think its' effectiveness depends on what is in the background.

I bought an acrylic welcome sign on Etsy with matching table numbers that had our color painted on the back. The color helped the wording pop and it looked amazing! I loved our sign and table numbers. It looked even better with the light from outside or candle light on the tables shining through.

I DIYed our acrylic sign! No sense in spending $100 on Etsy, I made this for $30! It is going to be outside, so I know guests will be able to read it. All of our signs around the venue are acrylic so I'm really excited. Its so classy and clean!

That looks great!! How’d you do the lettering, is it paint?

I printed out the sign I wanted to trace so the lettering would be perfect. The 18x24 sign was like $3 on Vistaprint, and it came fast! I put that under the acrylic board and then used a Sharpie white paint pen to just trace the words. It was so easy, dried within minutes, and took maybe 30 minutes max to do it. I did all of my signs this way just by printing out a sign and tracing it under the acrylic! I bought the picture frame from Michaels and used the app for 40% off the frame but you could easily find huge frames at the thrift store and paint them whatever color you prefer.

Hi Lauren! I think that acrylic signs can be really effective as long as the lettering is visible and clear and that there is no distracting backdrop or details behind the sign! Also, putting minimal text on your sign will make it easier to read! Something like this would look really nice:

Where are you planning to have the sign at your wedding?

I love these! Can I ask for the Etsy store that you ordered them off of?

Absolutely. They're from Mulberry Market Design. Below is the link for their custom acrylic signs. You can message them and they will put together the exact pieces and colors you need. They do take a while to get though. I think mine took about 3-4 weeks, so give yourself plenty of time if you're interested.

I chose to purchase the signs on amazon and do them myself. Here is an example. But if you choose to go this route use white or gray lettering.

I think acrylic signs are so cute! But might photograph weird, we decided against it.

Anyone who has tried making their own acrylic sign...if you made a mistake how do you remove the paint? I accidentally pushed too hard on my paint pen and made a little mess
