Acrylic Invitations

What are your thoughts about them? Has anyone used them? Was shipping pricey?

My parents were invited to a wedding with an acrylic invite. I collected all their old invites to look at when we were planning, and the shipping cost on the envelope is $1.40. It's gorgeous but I imagine that it was quite expensive, shipping not included!

Edited to add: the shipping was in early 2015, so it would also probably increase by 2017.

They are beautiful, but frankly, I wouldn't spend the money on it.

I personally would not spend that kinda money on invites. We sent out very cute save the dates and our invites were plain because we knew it was an area in the budget to save money

They're beautiful, but seem over the top for something that people usually throw away (and they make the environmentalist in me cringe!)

I agree that these are pretty, but save your money.

Most people toss their invitation, after the event if not sooner. No matter how much a bride (or the planner of any event) thinks that guests will want this as a keepsake, the truth is, most will end up in the trash.

Spend the money on other things.

Yeah, those are cool looking but the only people who will keep them are you and your parents. You could get acrylics made for a keepsake, but I wouldn't send them out.

Plus you can't put that on a fridge & that's how I know where to find the addresses of weddings, ha!

Another option would be vellum if you like the frosted look.

Pretty, but as a guest I would never keep it.

Remember that people throw invites in the trash the day after your wedding. Don't waste the money!

Super cute but so not worth it. Maybe get one done for you as a keepsake if possible. But for the masses......paper and vellum

I agree with these girls. I think we have the same ideas goin on though! Im doing vellum over a picture for the invites. But I'm also thinking of the table settings/menus so I think you'd like this too!

Or maybe instead you could double up & find a way to make it a favor? Maybe use a mirror with a hanging ribbon & write the menu on it...just the thoughts I've been thinking as well
