Accommodations info with save the date?

Jade , on June 19, 2018 at 5:07 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
About 94% of our guests will be traveling for our wedding and I want to make everything easy for everyone. Our room block is already reserved, so should I include that with the save the date invite? The intention being that they can plan and budget appropriately with plenty of warning. If so, should I send it again with the formal invite?

I know this is stuff that I can note on a wedding website, but I’m trying to avoid one.

I'm putting our wedding website on our Save the Dates, and we have a large section about traveling. It was too much to put on a notecard, and I wanted to give people lots of options.

Hi Jade! Welcome to WeddingWire and congrats on your engagement!

I agree with the others and if you don't want a wedding website, including these details in the envelope on a little note with details is a great idea. That way everyone who is attending can budget accordingly and have all of the information at the same time as save-the-date and/or invite.

Any way you choose, as long as the guests get the information, you can't really go wrong. Is the reason for all of the travelers due to you and your FS being from out-of-state?

Hope this helps. If you need any help or have any questions throughout your wedding planning process, please don't hesitate to connect or post a discussion. Smiley heart We are always happy to help!

We moved out of state from friends and family so they’re all coming to us, yes. Thanks for the advice!

I would let people know in the invite, but I would send the invite about 6 months ahead of time, that way there is ample time for them to save up, and that there are rooms available with the info. But I wouldn't send that information to people that wouldn't be travelling in for the festivities

We put accommodation info in both the save the date and in the wedding invite!

I included an accommodation insert with the save the date for our out of town guests. I felt it was courteous and helpful. Local guests only got an RSVP card. No change in postage required to send the RSVP and insert vs. RSVP alone, at least in our case. I think its a nice thought, and your guest will be appreciative of your thoughtfulness.
