Accidentally purchased flat thank you cards...

tinyred15, on November 13, 2016 at 11:39 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 16

As the title suggests, I thought I was purchasing normal thank you cards, but apparently I bought flat cards instead. Has anyone used flat cards as thank yous? Or has anyone received one? I'm pretty bummed about it, but am just trying to get over it and use them.

Can you still write a message on them?

@MizzzCara - Yes, I can get about 3 sentences in! Not as much as I would have liked, but definitely enough to get our thank you message across.

I think as long as you can still personalize them, you should just use them.

Ours were technically oversized postcards. The front was one of our wedding pictures with 'Thank You!' in one corner. We wrote the thank you note on the back and put them in envelopes and mailed them. As long as you're hand writing a personal thank you message, I don't think it really matters.

You guys are making me feel better! This is a photo of our card. We have room to write on the front (not a lot, but enough), since the back is just plain white textured paper.

We used post cards for our thank you's! As long as you can write on them, you'll be fine!

Can you still write on the back, even though it's textured? That way if you have a longer note you want to write to a few specific people, you can do that?

@amanda - We probably could write on the back, but we haven't tried to yet. It might end up looking a little sloppy since it's textured.

Yes, as long as you send them, that's what really matters.

Where did you order them from? I know vistaprint and zazzle will fix it at no extra cost to you.

@Mrs. CK - These are from Wedding Paper Divas. I'm not sure if they will swap them out or not.

If you're not happy with it, I'd double check with WPD to see if they'll help you out. Worth a shot!

I used flat thank you cards. My husband and I wrote messages on the back a weddibg photo was on the front.

What about writing something on a coordinating cardstock, making it just a tad smaller than the card and affixing it to the back? So that the color of the actual card acts like a frame?

If the back is plain, then I would write your message on the back.
