Aaaaaand my wedding shoes gave me blisters...

JCB, on July 20, 2015 at 10:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I wore my wedding shoes out this weekend and really wish I hadn't lol. The blisters on my feet are.......really bad. I have my alterations appointment tomorrow and oh god I have to put them back on!! I guess I better wear some band aids. I hope I can break them in before the big day.

Dr Scholls (sp?) sells Blister Pads that are a god send for both preventing blisters and cushioning ones you already have. Go buy some asap.

Where did you get the blisters? If it was from a rubbing area, try putting some moleskin on the inside. Blister block sticks are also great.

I had the same thing happen to me the day before my first fitting. I ended up running out and buying new shoes that I now LOVE. Honestly, if your feet hurt that much I would be very leery of wearing those shoes on your wedding day. Unless your dress isn't floor length the shoes won't show that much and I'd much prefer slightly less cute shoes than being in pain because frankly nothing looks cute when you're limping! I would either try to find other shoes or ask if you have to have them for this appt. I really thought I had to have mine for my first appt (they had even said so on the phone) but then they told me I wouldn't need them until the next appt which would have given me more time to shop.

Agree with others, I get blisters all the time (don't know why). Use band aids and blister bandages while you heel, but moleskin is awesome for the day of. You can find it at outdoor stores for hikers. I'd try the moleskin out again once you're healed just to be sure, otherwise you'll need band aids the day of. Good luck blisters suck Smiley sad I literally get them all the time. I go through a lot of band aids

Oo-- just learned this tip from my running club! If you have any body glide or other anti-chaffing product handy, apparently that can work wonders, too.

Try moleskin...you can get it at CVS in the foot care aisle...its self adhesive and you can trim it to fit. I took off my wedding shoes before the ceremony even started and ended up wearing the sparkly T-Strap sandals I bought for the reception and so glad I did!

Maltese is right- you can get moleskin at any drugstore or in just about any health care aisle. When I was dancing en pointe, I just to burn through it. If you 4th and 5th toes are squished, try taping the two together so they aren't moving and causing more friction.

It may be from the shoes not being broken in also. Once your blisters heal, try wearing them around the house for 10-15 minutes at a time to soften them up.

Thanks ladies - I will go buy some moleskin! On my right foot the blister is right under my ankle bone and on the left foot it's on the back of my ankle and on the side under the ankle bone. I really thought these shoes were going to be comfortable! And side note- not all flats are comfortable. I bought a pair of flats for work and they gave me the worst blisters breaking them in!

Also, try to stretch them out and break them in buy wearing them around the house with a couple pairs of socks on (at least 2 pair of normal socks or 1 pair of fuzzy socks)...wear them for a half hour at a time or so, even while you are just sitting there watching tv and the shoe will start to give a bit, making them more comfortable

I also read that you can put them on with socks and then hit them with your blow-dryer for a little while to help break them in. Haven't tried it but would love to hear from anyone who has.

If they are rubbing the underside your ankle bone, use an insert that will lift your heel a teeny bit.

I have run into that problem when a shoe is too deep for me.
